Insurance

Eye Center of Grand Rapids accepts most major health insurance plans. As a courtesy to you, we will submit medical claims directly to your insurance carrier when possible. If you would like to know whether we accept your particular plan, please call our office. However, to verify the specifics of your insurance coverage and network status, you can contact your insurance carrier directly.

Medical Exams

As providers of ophthalmologic care, most of our services are billed under medical insurance. A common misconception is that medical insurance does not cover eye conditions. In reality, most eye problems are considered medical problems and are billed as such. The main exceptions are routine eye exams (discussed below).

Routine Eye Exams

Our office does not currently participate with vision benefit plans. If you would like to come in to get checked for a new prescription for glasses, or if you would like to have an eye exam to make sure your eyes are healthy, then you will be responsible for the cost of visit. We offer exceptional service at an affordable fee. Call our office for details.

Self Pay Patients

If you do not have insurance or if your insurance plan is not accepted at our office, we are more than happy to see you as a self-pay patient. In that case, you will be responsible for payment at the time of service. If you will not be able to make the full payment at that time, please inquire in advance about possible special payment arrangements. Also, ask about our prompt-pay and financial need discounts.
